Bahian Fish Stew (Moqueca Baiana) Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb white fish fillets (such as cod or tilapia), cut into chunks

  • 2 tbsp Tempero Baiano

  • 2 tbsp lime juice

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes

  • 1 can (14 oz) coconut milk

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the Fish: In a bowl, combine the fish, Tempero Baiano, and lime juice. Let marinate for 15 minutes.

  2. Sauté Vegetables: In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent.

  3. Cook the Fish: Add the marinated fish to the pot and cook for about 5 minutes, or until it starts to turn opaque.

  4. Add Tomatoes and Coconut Milk: Stir in the diced tomatoes and coconut milk. Bring to a simmer and cook for an additional 15 minutes.

  5. Garnish and Serve: Season with salt to taste. Garnish with chopped cilantro. Serve hot with rice or crusty bread.

Brazilian Tempero Baiano Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

  • 3 tbsp Tempero Baiano

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 cup chicken broth

  • 1 lime, juiced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Season the Chicken: Rub the chicken breasts with Tempero Baiano, salt, and pepper.

  2. Cook Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until golden on each side, about 5 minutes per side.

  3. Sauté Vegetables: Remove the chicken and add garlic, onion, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until softened.

  4. Simmer: Return the chicken to the skillet. Add chicken broth and lime juice. Bring to a simmer and cook covered for about 15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through.

  5. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley. Serve with rice or your favorite side.

Brazilian Tempero Baiano Roasted Vegetables Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of mixed vegetables (such as carrots, bell peppers, zucchini, and sweet potatoes), chopped

  • 2 tbsp Tempero Baiano

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Season Vegetables: In a large bowl, toss the chopped vegetables with olive oil, Tempero Baiano, salt, and pepper until well coated.

  3. Roast: Spread the vegetables evenly on a baking sheet. Roast in the oven for 20 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and lightly browned, stirring halfway through.

  4. Serve: Serve hot as a side dish or over rice for a simple, flavorful meal.
